Hello! I’m glad you’re here! I like to view life as a journey, which is not always an easy one, especially for children and adolescents in today’s world. With many obstacles, bumps, and winding roads faced in life, we sometimes need help and guidance on how to best manage life’s ups and downs. I have found that having someone to talk to can help us sort out, understand, and cope with life’s challenges, not only in the moment, but also can teach us lifelong skills to handle the next bump in the road. Life is not meant to be done alone and asking for help is extremely brave! You are taking a powerful step! I would be honored to work alongside you and your child on this journey. I hope to encourage my clients to understand themselves better, identify their emotions, learn skills to combat their negative emotions or behaviors, and have a better outlook on life, and hopefully an enjoyable one at that!

Mental health has always been a passion of mine, even when I didn’t quite know what to call it. When I was younger, I was always drawn to the self-help section of bookstores, as I have always been interested in learning more about myself and others: understanding our behaviors and interactions. I am a life-long learner, and a big believer of knowledge is power. Our brains and emotions are powerful. I believe when we can identify and understand our behaviors, as well as the behaviors of others, we are better able to cope and adjust.

I attended Xavier University for my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. As a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, I have worked in various settings including rehabilitation centers working with adults with addictions to school-based services, working with all ages, in addition to handling crisis situations within the school system. From my experience, I have found that one size does not fit all in treatment modalities. I try and base my techniques off the person in front of me and their needs. The theories I tend to use the most are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Reality Therapy and Person/Client Centered Therapy.

When I am not working, you’ll find me sitting down to relax by watching my favorite sitcoms with my dogs and cats or I am outdoors, either hiking, kayaking, paddleboarding, wakeboarding, or snow skiing. I also enjoy traveling, photography, yoga, and crafting.
