Susan LaVelle Ficke, Psy.D.

 

Susan LaVelle Ficke is a Clinical Psychologist licensed in Ohio and Kentucky. Her areas of focus include cognitive behavioral therapy and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT).

Dr. Ficke was thrilled to join the talented team at Basset Psychological Services in 2019. She was excited to apply her many years of experience working with children, families and adults to private practice work at Basset. She has experience working with children, their families, and adults in multiple settings including inpatient, partial hospitalization, outpatient, school-based, and forensic sites. She has had the privilege of serving in both clinical and director positions over the years. Additionally, she has enjoyed contributing to the field of clinical psychology by training and supervising more than 40 trainees over the past 18 years, publishing articles, and serving on multiple dissertation committees. ​

Dr. Ficke earned both her Doctoral and Master’s degrees in Clinical Psychology from Xavier University. She completed her predoctoral internship at Indiana University’s Counseling and Psychological Service

Center in Bloomington, Indiana and her postdoctoral training at NorthKey Community Care in Northern Kentucky. In the recent past, she was the director of a community outreach program, which is part of a

large health system. Prior to that, she provided school-based behavioral health services within that same program.

 

In addition to clinical psychology, Dr. Ficke has an interest in nutrition, health and exercise.
